I have been using The Restoration of Eiganjo in my Standard white midrange and control decks and I have been very impressed with it.
It makes sure you hit your land drops early and then it flips into a 3/4 body that is great at protecting your planeswalkers.
I’ve been trying to find some good early drops to pair with its second chapter’s ability, but so far I have only really liked Intrepid Adversary, which you can buff upon entering the battlefield, and Spirited Companion, which is trying to do a Wall of Omens impression.
Even if you don’t have anything good to return with the second chapter, you can always discard a land and immediately bring it back into play. This makes it into sort of a free Explore.
There are a lot of good value lands, creature-lands and options to do with a lot of mana like Emeria’s Call, so having extra lands in play can be quite valuable.
Whether you’re running Azorius Control, Orzhov Tokens or some kind of Selesnya Ramp, take a look at your deck and compare The Restoration of Eiganjo to your three-drops. It could be a great improvement!
