Whenever you build competitive Magic decks, whether it’s for Constructed or in Limited, you want to maximize your chances of winning. “Competitive” is the key word here, as I’m sure everyone sometimes builds decks just for fun, casual Magic. But today, we’re going to be talking about trying to build our deck in the most optimal way for winning.
Assuming you want to make the deck as good as possible, you obviously want to choose the best available cards – cards that work well together, strong individual cards, cards that create value and good synergies. You want to avoid putting cards into your deck that won’t pull their weight.
Sometimes a card can look very strong or has a really powerful effect when it goes off. But is it worth the wait and work you need to activate it or use it in the desired way?
Today, I want to take a look at some of these cards and show you how to properly evaluate them and make sure you’re not putting something into your deck that might not be worth it.
