On my quest to find the perfect Shadow Rider list, I started here. This list was simple, streamlined – and ended up being way too slow. I would either miss Shadow Rider early, not have enough Energy on board or miss Shadow Rider VMAX on turn two. After hearing rumors of an Alcremie-less version, I decided to give it a spin to see if it could fix my problems. Here’s the second list I tried:

I started with three Mew from Celebrations in my list, then cut to two, then one and eventually just dropped it altogether. The card didn’t get enough use in a list without Scoop Up Net and honestly, only grabbing Items makes the card a lot less valuable than Jirachi was. I’m sure it will find a home somewhere, just not in this deck.
The rest of this list is very straightforward. You want to get a lot of Shadow Rider Calyrex V out, smack a ton of Energy on board and cruise to a win. Unfortunately, while this list felt better than the last one, I missed the hard-hitting Alcremie VMAX in most of my games. So, after a ton of refining, I settled on the following list:
