May 14, 2020 Update: Due to a manufacturing delay brought on my the COVID-19 Pandemic, Secret Lair: Ultimate Edition will now be released on June 12th, 2020.
Today Wizards of the Coast announced the impending release of Secret Lair: Ultimate Edition. Coming May 29th, this Secret Lair is not part of the Drop Series and instead will be available at Local Game Stores. Each store will be limited to ten copies of the set. Secret Lair: Ultimate Edition contains one copy each of the enemy fetch lands: Arid Mesa, Marsh Flats, Misty Rainforest, Scalding Tarn, and Verdant Catacombs. The cards all feature new art and are non-foil. Secret Lair: Ultimate Edition will go on sale May 29, 2020.
This will not be the only time the enemy fetch lands will be available in 2020. They will be available again later in 2020 at Local Game Stores. While the method was not announced, we do know they will not be reprinted into a Standard legal product. Additionally, June will see a Secret Lair Super Drop, where different Drops are available each day of the week. Ordering a bundle of the Super Drop will net you one random land from Ultimate Edition.
That was not the only announcement today. Coming to Local Game Stores on June 26 is Signature Spellbook: Chandra. Featuring eight reprints – five with new art – the Spellbook focuses on Magic’s favorite firestarter. We know two of the cards in the set: Chandra, Torch of Defiance and Past in Flames.
