Lutri, the Spellchaser is Banned in Brawl

Today’s Banned and Restricted List announcement listed one update: Lutri, the Spellchaser is banned in Brawl. Previously banned in Commander, the Izzet companion got the preemptive axe due to the fact that its condition – running a deck with one one copy of each non-land card – is part of the rule set for Brawl. There would be no deckbuidling cost to including Lutri and as such the card was banned before it was released.

The ban will take effect on April 16, 2020 in tabletop, Magic Online, and MTG Arena.
