What’s the Play?

This week’s play is one I got to observe firsthand. It’s from the finals of the Standard Super League, where Josh Utter-Leyton faced off against Gerry Thompson. The deck lists for each player can be found here.

It’s game three, and Josh sided in Brimaz for Valorous Stance (with Gerry sideboarding in an unknown fashion). You are Josh, and it’s your main phase.

What’s the Play?

I’ll give you a sneak preview: the play is not to -2 Narset and say go, which is how Josh ended his turn after casting some other spells. In fact, I’d go so far as to say that using Narset’s -2 and saying go is never the play.

I’ll be back on Sunday with my solution!

I’m always on the lookout for interesting scenarios, so feel free to email me at [email protected] with problems you think qualify, from any format. Screenshots are ideal, especially if they have all the information needed.
