Legacy BR Reanimator by Piotr “Kanister” Glogowski
BR Reanimator is a driving force in Legacy. It’s one of the most unfair decks, able to get Griselbrand down as early as turn one. Dark Ritual and Lotus Petal act as mana accelerants, Entomb and Faithless Looting are your enablers and Reanimate, Animate Dead and Exhume are the reanimation spells. It even has free protection to back it up in Unmask, Grief and Chancellor of the Annex.
Last Sunday on MTGO, the MOCS Showcase Qualifier happened, where 23 of the best players battled to earn an invite to the MOCS Final. The winner of the event was Piotr “Kanister” Glogowski, who bested Javier Dominguez in the final. He used BR Reanimator with a small twist.
He cut three copies of Chancellor of the Annex in the main deck to replace them with Archon of Cruelty, playing a grand total of four of the dreadful Archon that’s showing up in every format from Vintage to Modern.
We’ve often seen sideboard plans including Show and Tell or Magus of the Moon, but Kanister wasn’t about it and went for white answers only in the form of Serenity and Prismatic Ending to answer Leyline of the Void and Grafdigger’s Cage.
