Standard Bant Teferi by Rrozanski
There’s a lot I like about today’s Standard Bant Teferi deck. First of all, Doomskar is a great and quite underplayed card. This deck has access to three copies in the main deck as well as a copy in the sideboard. Fateful Absence is ostensibly one of the better cards in the new set, but hasn’t seen as much play as you’d think. This deck also has three of them in the main deck and an additional copy in the sideboard.
Teferi, Who Slows the Sunset has basically seen no Constructed play up to this point, in face I haven’t seen it in a deck before this. I find trying the new planeswalkers to be really interesting, and you’ll see the inclusion of The Celestus in this deck to maximize Teferi’s value. Tovolar’s Huntmaster is a great card against all these green decks floating around, and this deck has the maximum four copies. The Celestus also seems particularly strong in combination with Brutal Cathar.
On top of all these things, the deck has access to four copies of Alrund’s Epiphany, with Teferi making it easier to cast.
This deck was played in the MTGO Standard Challenge a couple days ago and took 9th place in the hands of a player named Rrozanski. This looks like a well-built deck to me that attacks Standard from some good angles. I look forward to trying this one out!
