Not Just Modern! Legacy Affinity – Deck Highlight

Legacy Affinity by Musasabi

With Modern Horizons 2, the Affinity archetype was revived from Modern to Legacy where, thanks to Urza’s Saga and Nettlecyst, you’re able to present extremely large and cheap threats.

Esper Sentinel and Ethersworn Canonist will be your prison elements. You can even make Esper Sentinel’s power grow thanks to Arcbound Ravager, Zabaz, the Glimmerwasp and Nettlecyst.

Thought Monitor, Emry, Lurker of the Loch and Retrofitter Foundry will be your card advantage engines, but of course they’re second to Urza’s Saga which is both a powerful threat and a toolbox engine for your Shadowspear and the Foundry.

Affinity isn’t dominating the Modern format due to Mox Opal being banned, but here in Legacy, you can play it with even Ancient Tomb and artifact lands like Ancient Den and Seat of the Synod,. Thanks to them, you’ll be able to accelerate your plays and be as fast as the Ragavan decks.

Portable Hole is definitely a very welcome innovation for these artifacts decks. We also see Mystic Forge decks playing now with Plains and Tundras only to have an out to Null Rod or Collector Ouphe that can come out of the sideboard that would otherwise completely invalidate your deck.
