I have a love for decks with sacrifice themes and Zombie tribal decks. Innistrad: Crimson Vow has an interesting new tool for these style of decks: Fell Stinger
Zombies’ strength as a tribal deck has always been its ability to outgrind midrange and control decks. Fell Stinger seems like a powerful card draw effect when paired with cards like Gravecrawler, Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia, Geralf’s Messenger and Undead Augur. It also gains a lot of power when paired with Aether Vial, allowing you to play it as instant speed, potentially in response to a removal spell. It’s also nice that Stinger can deal two points of damage to close out the game a turn early.
Here’s a draft of what the new Modern Rakdos Zombies might look like:
4 Undead Augur 4 Swamp 3 Goblin Bombardment 4 Geralf's Messenger 4 Gravecrawler 3 Mayhem Devil 4 Aether Vial 3 Cryptbreaker 4 Cavern of Souls 1 Castle Locthwain 4 Carrion Feeder 3 Blood Crypt 4 Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia 3 Verdant Catacombs 4 Champion of the Perished 1 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth 4 Bloodstained Mire 3 Fell Stinger 3 By Force 4 Leyline of the Void 3 Chalice of the Void 2 Terminate 3 Damping Sphere
