If you’re looking for a Legacy deck where you get to Grief the opponent, look no further than Orzhov Grief. This deck is a take on the BW disruptive deck in Modern, and has a lot of the same combos (in a more powerful format).

Combine Grief with a ton of one-mana ways to flicker or reanimate it to strip their hand. Win with Stoneforge Mystic or assorted beats.
This deck is banking on drawing Grief, and is optimized to combo when it does. It’s also got plenty of other hand disruption, and does a great job of ripping the opponent’s hand to death with it.
The whole Grief Industrial Complex is what caught my eye in the first place. This deck has a ton of ways to combo with Grief, an opener that leads to multiple discards plus a quick clock.
The backup plan here is Stoneforge Mystic, which is a one-card way engine, and a good finisher. Kaldra Compleat even diversifies the threats available, and makes SFM slightly better.
This is the less extreme version of Grief, though it’s still plenty powerful. It adds to the disruption, and is good with flickers too.
This deck clearly wants to see Grief more than anything else (hence the Once Upon a Times), with Stoneforge Mystic and Tidehollow Sculler as consolation prizes.
Keep. This hand really wants to hit Grief, and has all the tools to work if it does so.
Keep. All aboard the Grief train! Double Grief is the plan, and hopefully is enough without much other help.
- Stack the discard from Grief so it resolves before the evoke trigger, so your Undying Evil or Ephemerate is safer.
- Kaldra is your fastest clock, but Batterskull is safest in a race.
- Evoking Grief gives you revolt for Fatal Push.
Your opponents will have to accept how strong this combo is, as this deck consistently assembles it. Good luck, and may you always open with Grief.
