With Witherbloom Apprentice in play, every cantrip you’re casting will drain your opponent for one life, but that’s not the reason why you’re playing a two-mana 2/2 in Legacy. It’s because the Apprentice’s magecraft combos with Chain of Smog, as you’re able to target yourself over and over until your opponent runs out of life.
This simple two-card combo will be nice to work with in Legacy, and here we see Peter van der Ham tried to include it in a Sultai Delver shell.
I love to play Sultai Delver, and if you want to know more about the deck, I wrote a Deck Guide about last month. It’s unclear if it’ll be correct to remove some extra copies of Dark Confidant and Uro, Titan of Nature’s Wrath to welcome this simple two-card combo, but this is certainly a nice place to start.
