Deck Highlight: Legacy Lands

Legacy Lands - LittleSparrow

Lands is in an interesting place right now, as you can see from the list above. You’ll notice the addition of Brushfire Elemental, which offers a strong win condition when you’re playing so many lands. Nissa of Shadowed Boughs uses landfall to great effect too. This is a pretty aggressive variant of the usually combo-centric lands deck.

Life from the Loam is the engine of the deck, making sure you get access to as many of your utility lands as possible, with Crop Rotation able to grab whatever you’re missing. This is where the combo comes in. Dark Depths and Thespian’s Stage is a legacy classic, and it’s no less effective now. A flying, indestructible 20/20, it turns out, tends to be pretty strong.

The lands themselves offer a huge amount of options. Ghost Quarter and Wasteland take out opposing lands, Karakas says bye bye to legendary threats and Bojuka Bog makes graveyard decks cry. It’s a powerful toolbox package in an already strong deck.
