Jeff Lin, aka JTL005 on MTGO, did it again and won a Legacy PTQ on MTGO with his pet deck, Esper Vial! He’s the master of the archetype and keeps on crushing with a deck that he only seem to be winning with.

Yorion, Sky NomadKarakasAether Vial

This is one the few decks outside of Standard that gets to play Yorion, Sky Nomad as a companion, which combos well with all the enter the battlefield creatures as well as Karakas and Aether Vial.

Charming PrinceGilded DrakeVenser, Shaper SavantPalace Jailer (Timeshifted)

Charming Prince is certainly a card you don’t get to see often, but this deck has four copies of it! It’s great in combination with Gilded Drake since you’re able to first cast the Drake, get your opponent’s creature and then play Charming Prince to blink the Drake that you own, but don’t control. Then, at the end step, you’ll be able to steal another creature while keeping the one you stole previously. It also combos with all the other disruption pieces such as Venser, Shaper Savant and Palace Jailer, where you get to do incremental advantage that your opponent cannot keep up with.

Swords to Plowshares (Extended)Force of Will (Toppers)Force of NegationTeferi, Time RavelerBaleful Strix

Swords to Plowshares, Force of Will, Force of Negation, Teferi, Time Raveler and Baleful Strix are your cheap interaction to let you cruise to the late game, where you’ll be king.

This deck requires a deep knowledge of the format, just like every Meddling Mage deck ever. It’s also very intricate to unveil since there’s so many subtle synergies, and it’s no surprise that only Jeff has managed to master it at this level.
