Standard GW Adventures by Kyle Rose
Kyle Rose, who you probably know more for streaming Limited, always having the most draft trophies on Magic Online and occupying the number one and two ranks on the Limited Arena ladder with his two accounts, made Day 2 of the MIQ last weekend with his take on GW Adventures.
I have to say that I quite like going wide right now. In particular, I like it if Gruul and Naya become popular again, especially if it’s the version players like Huey Jensen and Reid Duke played at the last League Weekend that have four The Great Henge and no Embercleave. You can go a lot wider and bigger than one Henge and, if they don’t have a Cleave to get through your small blockers, you should be able to out-grind them pretty easily.
Toski, Bearer of Secrets, Jaspera Sentinel and Clarion Spirit are three important pieces that make this deck work. I’m not sure about the Reidane, God of the Worthy, Scavenging Ooze and Gemrazer, but the rest seems like a very solid core that probably deserves more exploring. Maja, Bretagard Protector is another card that could potentially be an improvement.
I will very likely be trying these kinds of decks in the upcoming days, so watch out for a deck guide or videos on this archetype.
