Modern UW Control by Guillaume Wafo-Tapa

This last Sunday, Pro Tour champion and control legend Guillaume Wafo-Tapa took down the Modern Challenge with a flawless 10-0 record and this very exciting UW Control list.
I’ve written a lot about how much I like March of Otherworldly Light as a new tool for Modern control decks, and here Wafo has used March to breathe some life into an old favorite of the format: Snapcaster Mage. A flexibly cast instant speed removal spell is a perfect card to pair with Snapcaster, and I expect to see a lot more of the two cards together moving forward. I do think that playing a one mana cantrip (either Consider or Opt, like you see in this list) is crucial to making Snapcaster playable in your deck. Remember to include them if you intend to work on Snapcaster control deck lists.
This list also features a single copy of The Wandering Emperor, which is another new powerful planeswalker that UW Control has access to. In the long run, it will be interesting to compare the Emperor with other planeswalkers and card draw spells with like Jace, the Mind Sculptor, Memory Deluge and Teferi, Hero of Dominaria, but for now the card seems like a solid option (at least in this creature-heavy metagame).
