We’re back! In this week’s episode we focus on the recent “BlitzCon” (Blitz Constructed tournament) held in New Zealand. This tournament was originally meant to be a Classic Constructed Road to Nationals event but got postponed due to COVID. The organizers decided to host it as a Blitz tournament, providing us with an early insight into how the Blitz metagame is shaping up. We start by discussing our experiences in the tournament, talking about what decks we chose to play and why, as well as our favorite games and what we learnt from the experience about Blitz as a format. The focus then shifts to the dominant deck of the format, looking at the different builds and analyzing why it performed so well. We then look at some of the other Top 8 decks and give some final thoughts on the Blitz metagame going forward.
