Deck of the Day: Historic Azorius Auras

Today’s deck of the day is Historic Azorius Auras!
This deck has been popularized by Jeff Pyka and Simon Nielsen and seven people used to go 7 wins in Day2 of Arena Open winning 2.000 dollars in a field of Temur Reclamation and Teferi, Time Raveler!

Historic Blue-White Auras Deck List - PYKAPOWER

Whenever a ban list happens, the first thing to do is to look at which deck remained untouched by the banlist.

Kor Spiritdancer is a card from Jumpstart that was added to this already existing archetype and put it over the top. Kor Spiritdancer is an archetype staple in Modern, and seeing it doing great work in Historic is nice.

What this deck tries to achieve is to build your own large and unblockable threat with All that Glitters and Aether Tunnel, while getting value with Staggering Insight and Curious Obsession.

You protect the creatures with Selfless Savior and Alseid of Life’s Bounty or some of them are removal-resilient already like Adanto Vanguard or are naturally very large like Kor Spiritdancer.

While some games tend to end up pretty fast, some other can take longer and in those Lurrus of the Dream-Den in the Companion zone will be super relevant as you’ll gain value bringing back creatures and Auras when needed.

Two-color manabase in Historic are much better than in Standard. While other players did get the 7 wins on Day2 with Mono-White Auras, the majority of the players winning with Kor Spiritdancer was playing Glacial Fortress, getting access to Spell Pierce and Aether Gust from the sideboard.
