Try Temur Control for the Standard Qualifier! MTG Deck Guide

Standard keeps on evolving, and the format still hasn’t settled yet. Black midrange is dominant, but new archetypes continue to thrive. With the ban of The Meathook Massacre, things continue to stay interesting. Although I don’t believe that black decks will be dethroned by the ban, it will certainly affect the format.

The Arena Qualifier Weekend on the 15th and 16th of October will feature Standard. To prepare you for the event, I want to share with you my take on Temur Control. I’m taking all the good things about my Izzet Control list and spicing it up with some of the best green cards in the format.

Temur Control is one of my personal favorites. Titan of Industry is the most powerful late game threat in Standard and it’s one of the best targets to copy with Reflection of Kiki-Jiki. Combine those two with a suite of counterspells and excellent three-drops in the form of Jewel Thief and Briarbridge Tracker and you got yourself one of the best underplayed decks available in the format. Temur is a hybrid between control and midrange – it plays to the board, but can also choose to play the draw-go game.
