I love playing Control deck in Standard, and I’ve enjoyed a lot tuning this Standard Dimir Control list since day one of Innistrad: Midnight Hunt.
My first version featured four Consider and no copies of Iymrith, Desert Doom, although I found out how good a 5/5 flyer is in this format, both at blocking Esika’s Chariot, Goldspan Dragon and Moonveil Regent but also at dodging Dragon’s Fire and other commonly played removal spells.
Siphon Insight played great in theory and in practice. The card isn’t a simple Think Twice; it lets you dig deeper to hit a land drop and might present your opponent with an unexpected threat like Esika’s Chariot or Alrund’s Epiphany, making it quite impossible to play around and very hard to sideboard against.
Finally, there’s The Meathook Massacre, a sweeper that gives you some life gain value that sticks around for your future removal spells. It’s simply excellent at dealing with any size creature, from Scute Swarm to Goldspan Dragon.
