Dominaria United Sealed Walkthrough for the MTG Arena Open

The MTG Arena Open is just a couple days away and with it comes the opportunity for anyone to grab the top prize of $2,500! But in order to do so you’re going to have to get through Day 1 which is Dominaria United Sealed, either with seven wins in Best-of-One or four wins in Best-of-Three. I’ve been jamming Sealed all week long in preparation and wanted to bring you a build walkthrough of an underwhelming pool I managed to pilot to 5-0 in an MTGO league. Let’s get started!

For starters, here’s the Sealed pool I’ll be using today.

Like any good Limited player, the first thing I check in my pool is the rares. In many formats, this will be a sort of make-or-break aspect of your deck’s functionality, but luckily in DMU that’s not the case. There are very few bomb-status rares in the set, and in fact a lot of the power in your Sealed pool will come from your uncommons. Even for DMU, this a pretty subpar pull from the rare and mythic department with the strongest card being Vodalian Mindsinger, which is good but is effectively at least a UR or UG gold card, which our other weak rares don’t really overlap with. Given these rares, what we build will largely be dictated by other factors in this pool.
