I liked the show, but I think that taking a page from ESPN (PTI i think?) with the time limit per topic isn’t a good idea. Like, Luis starts talking about Combo elves, but we don’t get to hear about that cause times up. I would say take off the timer and just talk. I know you guys have only 10 mins per video, but I don’t think anyone would mind this being 2 videos with a “commercial break” lol

I agree. I always love watching you guys talk, but the idea of a time limit seems annoying. It seems like you guys are spending a bit of time watching it, which means you don’t get to/aren’t saying things that you’d also like to say.
Other than that, great stuff! Can’t wait for the next installment.

I have a couple of comments on presentation. The list of topics is too wide. It cuts off Luis’ left side. The box should be thinner or the camera should be placed so that Luis is not cut off on the side. Second, I would prefer the clock to be flat instead of angled. The angle makes the eye naturally follow the line toward’s Luis’ stomach/crotch area. Luis like to play with his thumbs as he is talking. It would look more professional if a you used a table (with a table cloth) to cover Luis and Mashi from the waist down. That way you can also have show notes and what not on the table. If you are going to keep the PTI timed format, then you should allow the speaker to finish his last thought whenever time is up so the transitions are not so abrupt.

Yeah, youtube sucks for time limit constraint reasons. Surely you guys could afford/arrange some kind of premier video hosting account. Sucks that I’m pretty sure Vimeo doesn’t allow gameplay videos for whatever reason (Seems stupid to me). It could have other implications too. Complete rounds during the drafting videos rather than breaking them down and having intro/outro 3-6 times per round and and 9-18 all together which seems like overkill especially with known volume variance issues. Would mean a little less editing and faster production. The HD mode is usually better since it’s really slow on youtube as compared to other ones I’ve used.

Great Show! I was a bit disappointed at the whole “time limit” that you set on each topic (I wanted to hear about ElfBall!!) even though i think it’s kind of necessary so you dont spend all the time talking about what decks got good and leave out which ones got worse (for lack of a better example). But overall, great show, I like the style of the interface (very ESPN-looking as another user pointed out) and I look foreword to watching this show each week, just like The Magic Show with Evan Erwin!

Dailymotion.com has a 20 minute video limit and 150MB upload limit. You can embed video just like youtube.

Don’t think there should be a time limit on your topics. But other than that pretty good vid.

I still say it should have been called “LSTV.” Stop wasting my genius ideas, guys.

I really like the high quality vids, it’s like watching TV.

I like the table idea with notes for one simple reason: Baneslayer Angel was mentioned to have protection from Demons and Vampires when it’s actually protection from Demons and Dragons. May seem small and petty, but notes might help stop confusion and it would certainly seem more professional to have details accurate. I mean, do you really want Serra Angel sneaking into your house at night and beating you senseless for misrepresenting her friend?

aside form the first Green elves getting cut off - I like the “time limit”. Good stuff though!!

Definitely get rid of the two minute time limit per topic, would much prefer less topics fully fleshed out rather than 4 crammed in.

Ok…you guys talk VERY fast! Hard to understand for new people to Magic, or non-English speakers. Otherwise, it is great to hear the oppinions!

The time limits and the format would not be an issue if you planned it out slightly better beforehand. I’m sure you guys knew what you were going to be talking about, but didn’t want to script it, but you should try to avoid seeming to get cut off by the clock. I know this is the first video, but in the future, say something like, “… but maybe I’ll talk about that later in an article,” or something similarly less awkward.

Is the stag good enough to be MD material or a SB card against Fae?
IMHO, I’d rather play Boggart Ram-Gang in a 3-slot MD, with this guy as a Fae hoser.

Great show. 1 more vote against the Time limit though..
Keep up the great work.
Mashi’s pretty good at interviewing and humble..

I loved the show. I try to watch pretty much every Magic streaming video I can and it’s nice to see LSV starting up a show.
I’d say it’d be pretty nice to show the cards you talk about as you talk about them for people who might not know what they are. While I knew about the relevant M10 cards you mentioned, I did not know some of the references you made during the flavor section and it would have been nice to see them on screen between the clock and the topic list so I could just pause the video and read it rather than pause, open tab, gatherer, search card, listen to the video again to figure out the spelling, etc.

Nice job on creating an entertaining show and great job at putting it all together. I look forward to the next installments! I hate to harp on what others have already mentioned, but I’m not sure I like the time limit either. As someone else already mentioned, couldn’t you just upload a few videos if the limit is 10 minutes per video instead of cutting off earlier? It may be better in future installments because you may have more specific categories that don’t need a full 2 minutes of discussion, so this may be an artifact of a new set release. Time will tell I guess. For future installments, it would be extra spicy to have a few more guests (players, judges, WotC employees) around the round table discussing.

With all the respect I have for lsv, and I do, it could add a lot to the show to have more people besides him talk about the topics, especially if a debate sparks between them, I think that could add a lot. Also 10 minutes is quite short, I would like a longer show maybe 15-20 minutes.

The flavour in M2010 is a complicated thing. I like what they tried but I see mixed results. How is a rhinoman more basic fantasy flavour than a insectman? And how go rhinos and firststrike together? I don’t want to discriminate rhinopeople, but I don’t think they belong here. Same goes for Viashinos, they are everything but not what people expect from classical fantasy.
Also the removal of real world animals hurts flavour more than it benefits. MaRo told once, that playing only with UN cards makes the game less funny than mixing them with real cards. I think the same is true for fantasy: it gets pretty boring without the help of basic real world elements for us to connect. I hope next time they try an overhaul like this they wont make grass blue and wind visible as purple bubbles.
