by Luis Scott-Vargas

LSV continues to focus on M10 Limited, this time offering an in-depth look at drafting Blue-White, which is what he claims is the best archetype, and even has a brief report on last weekend’s 5k!

Fun Cubed: The Cube List

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

This is Tristan’s current Cube list, and will be updated when any changes occur!

Sean Catanese

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

Sean Catanese is a Level 1 Judge. His primary motivations for judging are “for the chicks” and “it’s a great excuse to play Elder Dragon Highlander.” He coordinates and judges Friday Night Magic for Great Escape Games in Sacramento, California.

Jonathon Loucks

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

Jonathon Loucks loves creating new decks. He was one of the first people to Makeshift Mannequin a Mulldrifter in Constructed, and you can blame him for Martyr of Sands making a comeback in Extended, a deck he rode to a PTQ Top 8 and GP Day 2. He took a game design class with Richard [...]

David Ochoa

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

In addition to being the most feared Vintage player on the West Coast, David “Webster” Ochoa has six Pro Tour appearances to his name. David also finished 9th at Grand Prix Anaheim with Red Deck Wins, although he hasn’t been spotted with such an aggressive deck since. Known for his encyclopedic knowledge (“Webster” refers to Webster’s dictionary) and unflappable demeanor, David is the go-to guy for reasoned analysis.

Josh Utter-Leyton

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

Josh only joined the tournament scene this past year, and already has four Pro Tour appearances to his credit (Hollywood, Berlin, Worlds, and Kyoto). Even before playing any live tournaments, Josh was feared as “wrapter” on Magic Online, and has transitioned smoothly into playing live events, finishing 12th at his first Grand Prix (Kansas City).

Riki Hayashi

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

Riki Hayashi is a Level 3 Judge who has crisscrossed the globe in search of love, layers of continuous effects, and a decent cup of tea. Along the way, he has judged a million tournaments and he’s rocked them all. He’s a (judging) cowboy. Won’t you come ride on his steel horse of penalties?

Jeremy Fuentes

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

Hi, I’m Jeremy Fuentes. You may remember me from such Magic the Gathering articles as “Scrubbed out of the PTQ, Again!” and “Building and Tuning Yet Another Aggro deck!”. I’ve been on the PTQ grind for about 2 years now and have loved (and loathed) every minute of it. Will this be the year that my stars line up and my “team” makes it to the big dance? Or will it be another off-season of lamenting the bad beats? Tune in next week, same time, same channel and find out!

Gerry Thompson

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

The ever-popular GerryT has racked up quite an impressive string of Grand Prix Top 8’s, with seven to his name, GP Atlanta being the most recent. With his Top 8’s stretching across both Limited and Constructed, Gerry has demonstrated mastery in both formats, although he prefers Constructed if given the option. Gerry is Level Six in the Pro Players Club for 2009 and plans to put the benefits to good use, which is good news for fans of his writing.
